The Social Hub Official Launch Event

Client: The Social Hub
Location: Glasgow
Services: Full production, event management, entertainment programming, sponsorships, partnerships, guest list support

The Brief

The Social Hub didn’t want just a launch party - they wanted a moment. A night that would honour and celebrate the community that has brought the Glasgow site to life, showcase the heart and character of the building, and position The Social Hub as one of the city’s most dynamic cultural destinations.

Working from a powerful creative concept developed by MadeBrave - inspired by Smug’s monumental Keeper of Light mural - SALAD was appointed as lead production and event management partner, tasked with transforming an entire building into a multi-floor, multi-sensory experience.

Working alongside The Social Hub team, this became one of the biggest, most collaborative events we’ve ever delivered.

Our Role

SALAD led the full production for the launch across four floors, working alongside the incredible teams at The Social Hub, MadeBrave, and our AV, lighting and build production partner Inhouse Event Productions.

Our remit included:

End-to-end production, build & event management across 4 floors

Entertainment programming including 5 DJs, 2 live performances and multiple immersive activations

Partnerships & sponsorships including Wolfie’s Whisky, Bombay Sapphire, Bruichladdich and Brewgooder

Guest list & guest experience support

Logistics, operations & full event flow

On-site management

This was large-scale hospitality, cultural programming and brand experience - delivered at speed and in sync with The Social Hub’s brilliant Glasgow team.

The Experience

The launch unfolded as an immersive journey across the building:

A Street-Stopper Arrival

A custom animation projection by Chris McIntryre and Double Take Projections lit up Smug’s towering mural - a jaw-dropping moment that gathered crowds outside The Social Hub and set social feeds alight.

The Grand Community Table Dinner

120 VIP guests were welcomed for a multi-course dinner, speeches, whisky toasts and a standout set from MC Hammersmith. A celebration of community, creativity and the city of Glasgow.

The Main Party - Four Floors, Full Energy

300 guests explored a building transformed:

First Floor: video wall, DJ sets, oyster bar by The Shuckle Brothers, digital graffiti wall, LED photo booth, cocktails, canapés, and a silent disco.

Second Floor - The Playroom Debut: Wolfie’s Whisky kitchen party takeover and guided tours of the newly completed bedroom suite and event space.

SíSí Rooftop: the afterparty with panoramic views of the Glasgow skyline, topped off with a surprise performance from Bemz.

Every space had its own energy, its own story, and its own moment.

The Result

A landmark night for The Social Hub - and for Glasgow.

High-impact production. Seamless flow. 300 guests across multiple floors. An event that blended culture, creativity, hospitality and community.

“The creativity of our partners MadeBrave and SALAD delivered a genuinely special moment inspired by the ‘Keeper of Light’, and ensured the night landed exactly as we hoped.” -  Ben McLeod, General Manager, The Social Hub Glasgow

For SALAD, it was a milestone - proof of what happens when brilliant clients, world-class partners and Scotland’s creative community all pull in the same direction. A night we’ll never forget.
